The Society Of Composers and Lyricists (SCL) is the non-profit and primary organization for professional composers and lyricists, with a distinguished 60-year history in the fine art of creating music for motion pictures and television. Both Tracey and Vance Marino are members of BMI, a PRO (performing rights organization) for songwriters and publishers. BMI sponsors many songwriter & composer events like the annual L.A. Film Festival.
CCC - The California Copyright Conference
The CCC holds monthly dinner meetings on selected Tuesdays, with a hiatus in June, July and August. The December meeting is the annual holiday party; the January meeting is held early in the month to accommodate MIDEM. The monthly meetings (usually held on the 2nd Tuesday from 6:15 to 9:30 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in Sherman Oaks between the I-405 & 101 freeways), feature a guest speaker or panel, as well as a "Legal Update" on current litigation and legislation that affects the music industry.

Membership in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is open to those persons who are or who have been actively engaged in activities related to the production or distribution of audio visual works for national exhibition by means of telecommunications.
AIMP - Association of Independent Music Publishers
The AIMP provides a unique medium for those in the music industry to discuss with their colleagues various points of view from the cutting edge of the ever-changing music business. The opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions with others on issues of mutual concern is fostered by the informal atmosphere of the AIMP's forums, workshops, and monthly meetings held on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 11:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the House of Blues on Sunset Blvd., Hollywood.
NARIP - National Association of Record Industry Professionals
The National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP) promotes education, career advancement and good will among record executives. With an emphasis on becoming better informed and more effective, NARIP offers professional development opportunities, educational programs and seminars, the opportunity to meet and interact with peers, a job bank, a member resume database for employers, a mentor network, a newsletter and other services. They often have educational and informative panels featuring music supervisors, attorneys, publishers, producers, etc.
PMA - Production Music Association
The Production Music Association ("PMA") brings together publishers and composers of production music to promote and protect the interests and rights of the community. The PMA is a non-profit, volunteer organization currently comprising over 445 member companies, including major-label publishers and national independents, and is providing crucial leadership to protect the value of musical works and create an even better future for the production music library community.

Exedia Nation - The Movie
"Exedia Nation," directed by Tyrell Lloyd, is the first original thesis film project to be filmed in 3D at USC. It is being produced by Dawn W. Ford, who worked with George Lucas and Stephen Spielberg. Vance and Tracey are scoring the film. The film is expected to be released in 2012.
YouTube: "Rockabilly Roll" on "Auction Kings"
Vance & Tracey's instrumental "Rockabilly Roll" was used on "Auction Kings" in a scene where Elvis Presley's car was being sold (starts at 2:40 and ends at 2:57 on the video). Ironically, the show aired on Jan. 8, on the anniversary of Elvis' birthday.
YouTube: "Puka Shells" for "Platform Breathe" PSA
Vance & Tracey's instrumental piece "Puka Shells" was used in a national Public Service Announcement (PSA) for "Platform Breathe.org," shown here on a YouTube video. Since 2006, the PSA continues to air frequently on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), CNN, FOX News, and other channels.

San Diego Songwriters Meet Up Group
This group meets every other Wednesday, usually at a music store in San Diego. Check the website for special events, concerts, guest speakers, etc. Vance and Tracey have given lectures about writing music for film/TV for this group. It's a non-threatening environment for beginning songwriters. It's also great for those who need to find a songwriting collaborator, a recording studio, session musicians, singers, etc., or to share information about composing and songwriting. Cliff Keller does an amazing job coordinating the meetings and making everyone feel welcome.
Musicpalooza Contest At The San Diego County Fair
This popular contest at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar started in the summer of 2009 and features prizes such as: $25,000 cash, Taylor Guitars, recording time, tickets to Anthology Club, a performance at the House of Blues in San Diego, etc. It's open to bands, singer-songwriters, singers, doo-wop groups, and more. Tracey & Vance Marino have been judges since it began.
MIMIsym with the Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA)
"Will Write For Food: Getting Paid Gigs" Tracey & Vance were panelists for this annual intimate industry event. Other panelists at this event included Tess Taylor, Dan Kimpel, John Debney, Christopher Young, Frankie Pine, Nora Felder, and many others.

NAMM is famous for its annual convention at the Anaheim Convention Center.

NSAI - Nashville Songwriters Association International
NSAI is a non-profit organization that helps songwriters, particularly in the country music field. Tracey has been a member of NSAI since 1993 and performed in a Singer-Songwriter Showcase in Nashville, TN.
