This Wednesday Tracey James Marino of SongMaker Productions will be leading our MeetUp. You can read Tracey's impressive bio below.
The meeting excercise will be as follows:
1) members form into groups of 3 to 5 people, 2) each group will ideally include a lyricist, and songwriter, a strong singer, and someone with a home studio. 3) there will be several themes or titles given to help you get started, 4) each team will perform something from their song before the end of the MeetUp (even if just a small section). Each team will perform their finished song (live or recorded) at the subsequent MeetUp on June 10th.
So bring your unfinished song ideas, lyrics without melodies, etc..., but be prepared to be spontaneous and cooperative coming up with something new by collaborating with others. Come on out, it is guaranteed to be fun as well as informative.
Tracey and her husband, Vance Marino, have produced, composed, and placed more than 300 songs for film, TV, and video games, and have had several songs published in print. Tracey's CD of original and classical , "DreamSongs" is found on Amazon.com and CDBaby. Tracey has a B.A. from SDSU studying Journalism and Music Composition. Tracey is also an accomplished pianist and singer.
