Presents the Seminar
AN EVENING WITH SEAN CALLERY
TUESDAY, AUGUST 4th, 2009
7:00pm, Check-in at 6:30pm
Join us for an evening with award-winning SCL composer SEAN CALLERY as he takes you through his work process, his background and experience, followed by a Q&A. Topics to be covered include:
- Spotting Notes/spotting process: showing the various kinds of spotting notes for various projects.
- Analyzing the scene and comparing the different options in how scenes may be scored.
- Technical talk: studio setup/gear sound design, stem prep and delivery
- Sean Callery's music on the orchestral concert stage, showing live footage and handouts of score selections.
- An example of his scoring a scene in real time (schedule permitting).
Also after the presentation, a brief interview with Sean Callery where he will have the chance to discuss his background in live performance, sound design and Synclavier technology, and the balancing act of scoring two TV series at the same time. At the end, questions handed in from the audience will be presented to Mr. Callery for his responses, time permitting.
Moderated by SCL Board Member, composer/arranger/musician BENOIT GREY.
