Tracey and Vance will give a presentation on the basics of film scoring. Topics will include:
- What is a "Musical Palette" and why it's important
- Spotting sessions and how to communicate with a non-musical director
- How to understand the sub-text in a scene and why "less is more"
- Creating moods and emotions with chord patterns and melodic motifs
- Why note-reading, musicianship, and music theory are not always requirements to be a film composer |
